Woodland Public School's Women's Initiative

At Woodland Public School, a group of students who share the same interests have come together to raise awareness and fundraise in honour of International Women's Day. This year's theme for International Women's Day is "Give to Gain."

By fundraising to support women in our community, we not only give to them but we gain awareness and understanding for our community.

At school, this group of young leaders has created an activity for students to gain a better understanding of how women have contributed to our world history. We also are hosting an event called "The Women's Gala" where proceeds generated from our student participation will be donated to support Yellow Brick House.

We invite our school community to join us in further supporting Yellow Brick House, an organization dedicated to helping women throughout York Region in so many important way.
